PSA Marine Pte Ltd and Ernst & Young Solutions LLP have partnered up to design and develop predictive and optimisation application. The application will be known as Blue 5.0.
Blue 5.0 will provide accurate predictions of pilotage transit durations. Terminals can benefit from the application as it will help them to plan and systematically assign their resources. Not only that, Blue 5.0 will enable vessel operators and vessel charterers to estimate the total duration of voyage within the port of Singapore.
Managing Director of PSA Marine, Mr. Peter Chew mentioned that the partnership is a major milestone in their digital transformation journey to bring greater value to their customers and stakeholders in the port of Singapore. PSA Marine’s Head of Pilotage, Mr. Jimmy Koh showed his confidence in the data generated from their business operations. He further stated that the findings will offer helpful insights and enable the company to provide effective as well as efficient services to terminals, the shipping community and the port of Singapore.
By leveraging data analytics and machine learning to achieve higher productivity, it has put PSA Marine in the forefront. Productivity is essential in this industry. Therefore, it is a good move on their part to develop such application.
