Course Overview

This module offers an in-depth exploration of Microsoft Power Apps, a key component of the Power Platform suite. Over two and a half days, participants will be guided through the core features of Power Apps, learning how to build custom business applications with minimal coding. The training will cover everything from basic app design to advanced functionalities, including integration with other Microsoft services and data sources. By the end of this module, participants will have the hands-on experience and knowledge to effectively utilize Power Apps in their organizational context.

Program Outline

Day 1: Introduction and Fundamentals of Power Apps

Morning Session: Getting Started with Power Apps

  • Introduction to Power Apps (9:00 – 10:30 AM): Overview of Power Apps, its role in the business environment, and navigation of the interface.
  • Building Your First App (11:00 – 12:30 PM): Step-by-step guide to creating a basic app using Power Apps, focusing on layout, controls, and basic formulas.
  • Lunch Break (12:30 – 1:30 PM)

Afternoon Session: Deep Dive into App Creation

  • Data Integration and Management (1:30 – 3:00 PM): Techniques for integrating data from various sources including Excel, SharePoint, and Common Data Service.
  • Customizing User Experience (3:30 – 5:00 PM): Advanced app customization, focusing on user interface design and user experience enhancements.
  • Day 1 Wrap-up (5:00 – 5:30 PM): Summary of the day’s learnings and preview of Day 2.

Day 2: Advanced Features and Practical Application

Morning Session: Advanced Tools and Techniques

  • Working with Advanced Data Sources (9:00 – 10:30 AM): Exploring the use of complex data sources and custom APIs.
  • Implementing Logic and Automation (11:00 – 12:30 PM): Advanced techniques for incorporating logic and automation into apps.
