Course Overview
This course introduces professionals to Generative Artificial Intelligence (GenAI) from a practical business perspective, focusing on how AI can be used responsibly to support everyday work such as information retrieval, analysis, reporting, and decision support.
Participants learn to design controlled, customised AI applications using curated content and simple workflows, enabling more accurate, reliable AI-assisted outcomes without technical complexity. The course may be offered as a standalone course administered by SUTD Academy, with course funding support by SkillsFuture Singapore, or as part of the full Skills Career Transition Programme (SCTP).

- Understand the difference between open-ended AI tools and controlled AI applications
- Use curated content to guide AI responses more accurately and reliably
- Design simple AI-assisted workflows using no-code tools

Practical Learning Approach
Participants will complete a guided hands-on exercise to:
- Prepare a curated knowledge base for AI use
- Design a simple AI-assisted workflow
- Build a controlled AI application for a defined workplace scenario
- Test AI outputs for accuracy, relevance, and reliability
The focus is on augmenting human work, not replacing it or experimenting with unrestricted AI behaviour.

Making GenAI Practical for Everyday Work
Understand Generative AI from a workplace perspective by learning how it can support everyday tasks such as research, information retrieval, drafting responses, and decision support—without treating AI as a technical or experimental exercise.
Building AI Assistants Using No-Code Tools (Make.com & MindStudio)
Design and build simple AI assistants using Make.com and MindStudio, helping participants appreciate how to create AI workflows and chat-based applications without coding, and how different design approaches affect outcomes.
Using Curated Knowledge for Reliable AI Outputs (NotebookLM, MindStudio & RAG)
Learn how to use NotebookLM and MindStudio to ground AI responses in trusted documents and reference materials, applying Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) concepts to improve accuracy and relevance for business and research-focused use cases.
Designing Simple AI-Assisted Workflows
Explore how AI inputs, processing, and outputs can be connected into simple, repeatable workflows using no-code automation tools to support real workplace tasks.
Using GenAI Responsibly in Organisations
Understand key considerations around data privacy, transparency, accountability, and governance when applying AI tools in a workplace environment.
